The Tavern League is a sprawling organization that exists throughout the Hollows as both a social and power structure. It’s not just a loose network of drinking halls—it functions as a guild-like order, deeply woven into the culture, economy, and even the magic of the world.
The Tavern League provides structure in a chaotic world. Where kingdoms rise and fall, taverns remain steady as centers of community. They act as information hubs—stories, news, and secrets travel faster through taverns than through royal messengers. Their members range from humble cooks to powerful rune-masters, but all share loyalty to the League.
Taverns are neutral grounds where all walks of life intersect—peasants, nobles, adventurers, and sorcerers. By rooting their hierarchy in taverns, the League ensures it has a presence in every town and city, accessible to both commoners and great powers alike.
The Praetorians are the backbone of all Taverns around Aurora "The Hollows". Each is assigned to a Tavern to oversee for a contracted period of time. They are tasked with the protection of the tavern and subsequent protection of the town it resides in.
Commonly they are the inn-keeper in smaller taverns but in larger taverns, they have to focus more on the duty of maintaining the "Taverns Peace" among the larger crowds leaving the mundane tasks to other tavern employees.
Rarely is there a Tavern without a Praetorian Ranked Employee overseeing the operations. These are generally brand-new or within areas that are lacking Praetorians with Contracted Time available.
The Tavern is established upon a charter written by Quinn Fletcher and his trusted allies, The "Dragonharts". The laws are simple and demand that a tavern remains to be a sanctuary of neutrality.
The Tavern splits the Patrons abilities into ranks due to the dangers involved in quests and missions. To ensure the safety of more vunrable Patrons in completing appropraitly skilled tasks.
Ranks are assigned according to the individuals abilities based on real world accomplishments, Path certifactions, and an assessment or a Test mission approved by a Praetorian. Natural Talent, Fame and Notoriaty are considered upon application.
Each Rank from the Second Tier on are split into 3 paths. The Warrior Path is a path dedicated to Combat. The Acolyte Path is dedicated to Magic. The Patron Path is dedicated to Non-Combat roles crucial to everyday life of the Tavern Culture. An Auxiliury is someone with all Path certifactions in their Rank. One must have at least one Path certifaction to advance to the next Rank while Auxiliuries require all Path certifactions to raise their rank.
